SUPPORT TO THE WORK OF THE SCOUT ORGANIZATION IN MUNICIPALITY OF PALILULA
6.09.2013

In the House of the scouts, named “The Greece Villa ", this weekend brought together the participants of the Night oriented contest, organized by the Scouts of ' Đuka Dinić" scout squad. On this occasion, president of Municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić  and his associates visited the organizers and participants of the competition. Palilula Municipality and Youth Office sponsored the activities of Scouts. Scouts' squad Đuka Dinić " is one of the three detachments operating in the municipality of Palilula. Just today, I talked with the management of the organization and the officers of the Scout Association of the City of Nis on activities that scouts will make this year. I support the work of this organization because I believe that their actions deserve more support from general society. Scouts gather young people and successfully meet their interests,  they are contributing to their mental and physical development, andthat is what we strive for as an organization of local government of the City of Nis-says Boban Džunić, president of Municipality.

Scouts of Palilula successfully cooperate with the Youth Office. According to Ivana Jovic, coordinator of youth activities in the municipality, the importance of cooperation is mostly seen in the fields of sports, ecology, and overlooking of the social position of young people.

Night Orienteering scout competition, “Djuka 2013th'' is a traditional activity that had been initiated in the year of 1974. This year's competition, according to action coordinator Damjan Andjelkovic, there were over 100 scouts from Nis, Lazarevac, Smederevska Palanka and Sid and it is maintained by regular calendar action of 6-8.september. Scouts competed in two categories: in the older scouts category there were Climbers and Highlanders (over 16 years of age), and the there was a category of younger scouts and mountain girls (13-15 years of age). The condition of competition in the younger category was that the participants in the team are aged between seventh and eighth grade of elementary school, and on the track, for safety reasons, there was an adult (mountain ranger or ranger) who monitored the activities, said the action coordinator. Otherwise, the competition team numbered 5 members and could be of mixed composition.

In addition to scouting skills and team competition, it is obvious that socializing among Scouts and friends of the organization was the main objective of this year’s competition. Cooperation with civil society organizations in Palilula is governed by a Memorandum of Understanding and contained in the Program of Action Development. This is a good example regarding the needs of all population groups in the community.
